Fiona and her kittens

  • Because of rising costs for food over the past nine months, we have reluctantly had to increase our kitten price and deposit amount. The new price will be in effect for any kittens born after the first of March 2010. Until the 2010 version of our contract is available, the link below will take you to the older version which references 2008-2009 prices, so please remember to substitute 2010 prices when reading the contract.
  • The normal price for one of our kittens is $525. For this price, the buyer will receive a healthy kitten with a limited health and exchange guarantee (included in the signed copy of the kitten contract), a three-generation pedigree with photo, and a registration application with the Traditional Cat Association. Some kittens are also registered with the Cat Fanciers Association. The kitten will be sold with a spay/neuter agreement when placed with a new owner, normally at 12 weeks of age.
  • In order to hold a kitten, a prospective buyer should send a deposit of $175. The deposit may be made by PayPal, check, or money order. When a buyer has sent kitten preferences and indicated the intent to put down a deposit, we will send a PayPal invoice, or the buyer may mail a check. The buyer must also read and agree to the kitten contract before any kitten will be released to its new home. Each buyer will be expected to sign two copies of the contract when the kitten is picked up or delivered. Click here to download the XGSRF Kitten Contract.
  • If a buyer has put down a deposit for a kitten of a particular sex or point color, and that kitten turns out not to be available, the buyer has the option of taking a different kitten, waiting for our next available kitten that fits the buyer's preferences, or having the deposit refunded. A deposit is refundable up to two weeks before agreed pick-up or delivery date.
  • When the kittens are ready to go, buyers usually come to our home in Rocky Ford, Colorado to pick them up. We make trips to Denver from time to time and so can occasionally make arrangements to deliver a kitten anywhere along the Front Range between Pueblo and Boulder.
  • We are willing to ship a kitten from Denver International Airport if a direct flight can be obtained, but a kitten cannot be shipped until the age of 15 weeks. Additional costs added to the purchase price: $75 for the trip to Denver from Rocky Ford, $60 for the required vet check and health certificate, and $35 for the carrier. The actual air freight shipping costs will be paid by the buyer to the airline when the kitten is picked up at destination.
  • If for any reason the buyer is unable to keep one of our kittens or adult cats, we will accept the kitten or cat back again and pay any necessary shipping charges. We do not want to see one of our cats relinquished to a shelter or left on the street. We will see to it that any cat returned to us is re-homed into a safe and loving environment.
  • We expect that our cats will be kept indoors, or permitted to go outside only in a supervised, secure environment or on a leash. Breeders listed with the Traditional Cat Association do not sell to buyers who plan to let the cat roam freely outdoors.
  • NOTE: If you plan to declaw your kitten, we will not sell you one of our kittens. If you declaw the kitten after purchase, it will void both your contract AND the included health guarantee. To find out why we hold this position, visit this informational web site: Facts About Declawing.

  • Please don't hesitate to call or e-mail us if you have any questions about the above policies.
