Our Queens

Sheila of Xi-Gua

This is Sheila, our senior queen, who moved to Rocky Ford with us from Arvada, Colorado and began the Xi-Gua lines. Her traditional-style heart-shaped face and sweet temperament have been evident in all her offspring. Sheila is the mother of our queen Fiona and our former stud Turlough O Carolan (both by WildRose Ryan of Xi-Gua). Sheila is a seal point carrying blue point genetic factors and produces kittens of both colors.

Xi-Gua Fiona Hutsell

This is Fiona, our second queen. She is the daughter of Sheila of Xi-Gua and WildRose Ryan of Xi-Gua. Fiona is a traditional Siamese with some classic features; with one traditional and one classic parent, she can produce kittens of either style. Her kittens by Conn have turned out to be extremely traditional in type. Fiona is a seal point carrying blue point factors, like her mother, and produces kittens of both colors.

Ja Mar Kits Brigid of Xi-Gua

Brigid, whose name means "exalted one", is named for St. Brigid of Kildare. She comes to us from Ja Mar Kits Cattery near Houston, Texas. Ja Mar Kits specializes in classic-style Siamese, of which Brigid and her sister Nuala (below) are two beautiful examples. Brigid is a seal point carrying blue and chocolate genetic factors and can produce kittens of all four basic Siamese colors (seal, blue, chocolate, and lilac), when bred to a stud who carries the same colors.

Ja Mar Kits Fionnuala of Xi-Gua

Fionnuala (Nuala for short), whose name means "white shoulders", also comes from Ja Mar Kits Cattery. Nuala is a blue point carrying chocolate factors and can produce kittens of all four basic Siamese colors (seal, blue, chocolate, and lilac), when bred to a stud who carries the same colors. Her kittens have all turned out to have her distinctive wide-set eyes and high cheekbones.

Koblizek's Kylinn of Xi-Gua

This is Kylinn, whose Gaelic name, Caol Fhionn, means "slender fair one". We were very excited to get one of Lois Koblizek's famous lilac points from Koblizek Siamese in Wisconsin. A modern (show-style) Siamese herself, Kylinn will produce show-style kittens with Declan or classic kittens when bred to Conn. As a lilac point, Kylinn can produce kittens of all four basic Siamese colors (seal, blue, chocolate, and lilac), when bred to a stud who carries the same colors.

WildRose Davnet of Xi-Gua

Davnet, whose name means "fawn", is named for the 7th-century saint Dymphna of County Monaghan. She comes to us from Desert Rose (WildRose) Cattery in New Mexico, and is a younger sister of our late stud WildRose Ryan. She is a classic type, so she can produce classics or traditionals depending on the father's type. Davnet is a seal point carrying chocolate factors and produces kittens of both colors, but she may also carry blue and be capable of producing blues and lilacs.

Juvenile Queens
(not yet of breeding age)

Xi-Gua Eithne Carberry
(say "En-ya" or "Ayn-ya")

Eithne is the oldest of our junior queens, sired by Conn out of Nuala in January 2010. She is named for the 20th century Irish poet and wife of historian Seamus McManus. A traditional Siamese with some classic features, with one traditional and one classic parent, Eithne can produce kittens of either style. She has an outgoing and affectionate personality and is very friendly, even with other cats and strange dogs (at our Webmaster's house, for example). Eithne is a seal point carrying blue factors and will produce kittens of both colors, but she may also carry chocolate and be capable of producing chocolates and lilacs.

Xi-Gua Siobhan
(say "she-VON")

Siobhan is our second junior queen, sired by Conn out of Fiona, also in January 2010. She is a beautiful traditional blue point with a very sweet personality, though a little shy in strange situations. As both of her parents are traditionals with no recessive Balinese (long-haired) genes, we were rather surprised by her short, soft plush coat. Siobhan will produce blue points and seal points, and may also be carrying chocolate factors, giving her the ability to produce kittens of all four colors.

Larami's Moira of Xi-Gua
(say "MOY-ra")

Moira, our newest addition, along with her brother Finn McCool, comes to us from Larami Cattery in British Columbia. She is a traditional chocolate point carrying blue factors and will produce kittens of all four colors.
